She dreams of becoming an inventor. First, she has to survive middle school…
Twelve-year-old Putney Hicks just moved from Alaska to South Carolina. Now, she’s at a fancy STEM school. The kids here have more confidence and money than she’s ever known. Putney’s smart, creative, and full of ideas… but try telling her that. She’s too busy just trying to survive her first week.
A mysterious tablet lands in her hands. Inside is a talkative, unpredictable AI.
Is the friendly pixie in the device alien? Supernatural? Just really good tech? Putney doesn’t know. But she’s determined to keep it safe while she figures it out — and it couldn’t have come at a better time. A rivalry with the richest (and meanest) girl in school just turned into a bet Putney can’t afford to lose.
With her AI companion, Sam, by her side, Putney learns that you don’t have to feel smart to become an inventor. You just need the courage to try, fail, and try again.
The Secret of the Magic eyePad is the first book in the Putney Hicks Inventor Adventures series. It’s an award-winning STEM adventure for kids ages 8-12. This fun and funny story is full of mystery, invention, and a bit of magic. Grown-ups will enjoy it too!
Join Putney on her first big adventure — where anything is possible!
